On my Chrysler 2001 Town and Country, Guage Pro states that Test ID: 17 00 failed with result of 40 when limit is 31. Could you point a reference to seek any description of the meaning for this test? or I am doomed to wait for Chrysler support? or even then it would not be decyphered automagically?
thank you in advance for the reply!

Hi,
I do not have any documents on Mode 6 for Chrysler's. I do have a list of PDF files link for many of the Manufacturer Mode 6. Some of them cost money and others are free. I will see if I can find the links. I remember Ford Mode 6 documents are free, not sure about Chrysler.

I found www.aatecusa.com/obdIIpro/membersonly/technical-tips/gm%20etc/Chrysler%20Mode%20Six%20Data.doc on www.aatecusa.com/obdIIpro/membersonly/technical-tips/ . But not sure if it is applicable to My 2001 T&C because the .doc says Test ID: $16 (O2 sensor ½ minimum voltage) failed Component ID: $00 (maximum limit) failed Test ID: $ 17 (O2 sensor ½ maximum voltage) failed Component ID: $80 (minimum limit) failed While Car Gauge says that test $16 has "Limit: X min" and $17 has "Limit: X max" this flipping max/min for the tests and suggesting that those are different tests (anyways ordered the downstream O2 sensor meanwhile since first $17 flipped to FAIL, but then after a while it became $16 to report FAILED while $17 reached its desired limit of 31 Max)

The test might be related to the o2 sensor, but the test and component ID must match for the exact interpretation of the data. I have a similar situation with the Camry. It fails on some days and passes on other. I will wait and replace it when the computer sets the fault. Make sure you are identifying the correct location of the o2 sensor.

Well -- inspection is approaching, that is why I thought to fix it up before it. Not CEL or error codes associated with O2 sensors (only the ones with transmission/torque converter popping up ). Indeed ideally I should identify it precisely first, thus is looking for this secret mode $06 data. (ordered sensor via amazon prime thus return should not be a problem happen it is not it and happen I figure that out before replacing it). There is another app on the market (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=appinventor.ai_lotus07305.OBD2Mode06Decoder) for mode $06 codes but it is not clear if it supports my vehicle: "This APP decodes Mode-06 on CAN systems, Some 2003-2006 and all 2007-Up models (any make and model sold in the US.)". Authors haven't replied yet.

AllData Repair Manual shows 1/2 is Downstream and 1/1 is Upstream. 1/2 basically is Bank 1 Sensor 2. 2 is further away from first sensor and most cases near Catalytic Converter. It appears you did order the correct type.

Thank you for the reply, but to say the truth you have lost me a bit -- how 1/2 and 1/1 translate to id 17 and 16? or you are just saying that bank 1 sensor 2 is downstream O2 sensor (thus without relation to the mode 06 test ID)? BTW -- whenever I was trying to perform "Oxygen sensor" tests (or whatever similar they are call -- away from the car ATM) in "OBD menu" for those I just got "No data". Should have it worked in some way? BTW, does Alldata has the information on mode 06 codes? Thanks for all the answers and follow ups -- they are much appreciated!

There is no information related to mode 6 in alldata.
The info on o2 sensor location is not from mode 6. You still need to confirm those id are related to o2 sensors. More likely it is.
Mode 5 is not supported by all of the vehicles.
