GM Vortec CMP Retard - which PID * or ** ?

Hi - trying to determine if my CMP Retard is set correctly on my 98 Chevy Tahoe L31 Vortec 5.7
I see two PIDs in CGP: CMP Retard * and CMP Retard **
Which is the correct one to use?
CMPR* is reading -2 degrees and CMPR** is reading -5.7 degrees - Both readings taken around 1200 RPM's.
